WHY I PREFERRED TO CREATE A NEW DESIGN AND HOW IT TURNED OUT GREAT

August 05, 2019

CLIMBING THE SPOTLIGHT - THE COMMITMENT OF
EVERY LINEMAN TO KEEP THE LIGHTS ON IN
            GOOD AND BAD TIMES.

It started when a friend of mine that I used to work, who is now working in other power utility, requested to make her a custom tees for retiree lineman as token gratitude for their contribution to their company.

At first, I was struggling. I don't have any idea and I don't know where to start. Not to mention that I have limited time to produce the actual product.

Luckily, she assisted me and we come up with a design with a simple but very appealing design that even the other employee requested to have their shirt.

THE NEW DESIGN

It is my routine to post photos of my recent projects to my social media accounts. It didn't take long until some of my friends saw my post and asked if they could order the same shirt.

I know it is not appropriate to reproduce the shirt even if it is in demand, its exclusivity is for the other company. I know you know what I mean. So what I did is to create another somehow similar design but with a more powerful statement that would, they would surely appreciate.

THE PROCESS

The new design now in full-size shirt and more detailed. Making its full size is not that easy especially if vinyl is your medium. It would consume almost 80% of your time from peeling every detail until you have the final image.

Imagine if you have more than 5 tees to work on. You know what I mean. Lucky for me I only cater a few per day since I work in the morning and the only time I can work is after my working hours.

THE FINAL PRODUCT

FINAL DESIGN

It almost took me half an hour to finish a single shirt. A total painstaking task but once I was done, it felt a total satisfaction. The tedious process pays off! The quality is so clean that it can be compared to those quality shirts you bought in the mall.
